Rothsay Recycling Wastewater Treatment Plant

Client: Rothsay Recycling
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Completion: Projected October 2020
Project Details: Parkwest Projects is the Construction Manager contracted by Rothsay Recycling, a Division of Darling International Canada, to construct a new wastewater treatment facility. The building is designed to treat the water used in their production processes as an extra stewardship measure before it is entered into the local wastewater treatment system. When complete, this 7,200 square foot, 2-storey building will also hold office spaces and staff areas, along with two back-in truck bays and the required processing equipment.

 

Sapotaweyak Water Treatment Plant

Client: Sapotaweyak Cree Nation
Location: Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, Manitoba
Completion: February 2021
Project Details: Sapotaweyak Cree Nation will receive a new Water Treatment Plant as part of the Federal Government’s initiatives to end all boil water advisories across the country. The community is located along Lake Winnipegosis, roughly 1.5 hours North East of Swan River. The project is described as a new Water Treatment Plant consisting of an intake, intake pumphouse with wet well, outfall, 1,350 m3 capacity below grade concrete reservoir, water treatment plant building, and all other associated works.

 

Landmark Water Treatment Plant

Client: Manitoba Water Services Board
Location: Landmark, Manitoba
Completion: January 2020
Project Details: Parkwest Projects is the General Contractor working under a CCDC2 contract for the construction of the Landmark Water Treatment Plant. The project involves a new 2,150 m3below grade concrete reservoir with a 374 m2 Water Treatment Building above housing a biofiltration and activated alumina filtration water treatment facility. The project also includes new well mechanization and raw water supply piping to the facility as well as connection to the municipal water and wastewater services.

 

Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation Water Treatment Plant

Client: Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation
Location: Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation, Manitoba (near Birch River, Manitoba)
Completion: May 2020
Project Details: As part of the Federal Government's efforts to end long-standing drinking water advisories on First Nations in Manitoba, Parkwest Projects was contracted to construct the brand new Water Treatment Plant for Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation. The 2,800 square foot building includes 5 concrete treatment cells, a wood frame building, and state of the art water treatment equipment. Similar to all of our First Nation projects, maximization of local resources allows us to complete the projects as efficiently as possible. Parkwest Projects has committed to over a half million in local resource utilization throughout the life of this project.

 

Great Falls Water Treatment Plant

Client: Manitoba Water Services Board & RM of Alexander
Location: Great Falls, Manitoba
Completion: 2019
Project Details: Parkwest Projects is the general contractor working under a CCDC2 contract for the construction of the Great Falls Water Treatment Plant. The project involves a new concrete reservoir with a full water treatment facility including approximately 800 metres of pipeline to the river with a new wet well and intake structure. Due to the shallow bedrock present in the area the installation of the concrete reservoir and pipelines involved blasting of the bedrock in close proximity to Manitoba Hydro’s high voltage power facilities.

 

Stephenfield Water Treatment Plant

Client: Pembina Valley Water Cooperative Inc.
Location: Stephenfield, Manitoba
Completion: 2018
Project Details: Parkwest Projects was the General Contractor in charge of the addition and renovations to the Stephenfield Water Treatment Plant. The construction of a new facility with a larger reservoir and filtration equipment was completed ahead of the targeted completion date set out by the owner. The project consists of the construction of a new below grade two-cell reservoir, 439 m2 addition, back-up generator and lot improvements. The building houses new microfiltration and nanofiltration treatment processes including 20 L/s- rated cold-lime softening clarifier, recarbonation tank, media filters, ancillary chemical processing and feeding systems.

Through the success of this build, the project was awarded the 2018 Exceptional Municipal Project Award by the Manitoba Water & Wastewater Association.

 

Dauphin River Water Treatment Plant

Client: Dauphin River First Nation 
Location: Dauphin River, Manitoba
Completion: 2018
Project Details: Parkwest was the General Contractor for the construction of a water treatment facility for Dauphin River First Nation. The building construction consists of concrete reservoir foundation, structure steel framing, with masonry wall finish. The building houses the water treatment unit, supply pumps for domestic use, as well as fire pumps to provide water to the communities fire system. The building is equipped with offices for staff, chemical supply storage, water bottling station and laboratory for testing water quality. Other work completed as part of this contract was to install the wells, pumps and associated piping to supply the plant with water. Also the construction of a chemical feed building, designed to pre-treat the communities wastewater prior to it entering the lagoon, was constructed as part of this contract.

 

Goldenward Water Treatment Plant & Reservoir

Client: Corporation of the Municipality of Red Lake
Location: Red Lake, Ontario
Completion: 2005
Project Details: Parkwest Projects Ltd was the General Contractor for the construction of a new water treatment plant, reservoir, and pump station. Project highlights include concrete reservoir foundation, structural steel framed structure, hybrid of metal and masonry exterior finish, water treatment unit, supply pumps for domestic use, and staff offices.
